Patty's piglets were the surprise guests for a local elementary school this week!

We've had several people ask us about how we're raising Patty's piglets. Even though we started with MannaPro Colostrum, this combo pictured is what they get now.

The new piglets DO NOT have to be told twice to line up for breakfast.

We will be participating in a farmer's market hosted by our local Tractor Supply Store. We'll have our eggs available to purchase, as well as a few of the new piggies for you to meet.

We have four roosters. They were missexxed as babies, but we never culled them. They are very friendly, yet do a pretty good job of roostering. We decided to name them all: Thor, Timmy, Tommy, & Taco.

Peggy's piglets, who were born on February 5, are starting to eat on their own. They are on track to wean completely by 6 weeks old, and boy are they growing fast.

Replacement pullets have started coming in. We choose them based on the color of their eggs. These here are Cream Legbars, which lay blue eggs.

Patty, one of our gilts, decided to drop her first litter of piglets unannounced on Saturday morning. We knew she was pregnant, but we were off on the due date. She has not been the best mommy, so we are raising this batch by hand.

One of the rescue dogs we have here on our farm, Bagel, has been protecting our main flock. She lives right in the middle of them. And even though they get on her nerves once in a while, she does a great job at keeping predators away.
